Between 1926 and1929, Gracie and Archie are listed in the electoral registers at 72A Upper Street, Islington. At the time it was a maisonette above a sweet shop (now ‘Cuba Libra’ a Cuban restaurant and bar) which had previously been her parents home since at least 1925.

'Collins Music Hall'

‘Collins Music Hall’

On the adjoining side of the square, within easy view of Gracie’s apartment (behind the trees on the postcard at the top of the page) was ‘Collins Music Hall’ where Gracie made her London debut. It must have prompted many memories for her to look out of her window.
