‘The pure gold of the music hall. Only two words are needed to introduce her: Our Gracie.’

Gracie sang . . .

My Hero (comedy version) * Mary’s Boy Child * God Save the Queen

These are the three broadcast numbers which feature Gracie. However, Gracie also sang a Rock and Roll number, ‘Born To Be Your Baby,’ which was widely panned in the following days press. The BBC’s crafty editing for the broadcast has cut this item and overdubbed her ‘Sally‘ orchestral play-off onto the end of ‘Mary’s Boy Child‘ and the audience response is still very warm.

Relaxing before the performance with Vera Lynn and Alma Cogan over a cup of tea.
